The FCDC is a regional socio-economic bloc formed in 2016 by the member counties of Turkana, West Pokot, Lamu, Wajir, Isiolo, Tana River, Marsabit, Samburu, Garissa, and Mandera Counties to convene and coordinate activities aimed at accelerating the development of its member counties. It also acts as the member Counties’ coordinating office for Kenya Vision 2030, the Sustainable Development Goals, and related programs and projects to ensure its participation in the national priority development initiatives. The purpose of FCDC is to serve as a catalyst in promoting, integrating and sustaining peace and socio-economic development in its member counties with the participation and involvement of its people. The FCDC is legitimately recognized by member counties through an Act of County Assembly that has been passed by five of the counties.
